About the series
Dick Briefer’s Rex Dexter of Mars was a one-issue 1940 sci-fi adventure from Fox Comics, written and drawn entirely by Briefer himself. It followed the titular Earthman as he journeyed to the Red Planet, but the series never expanded beyond that single debut. Though brief, it stands as a curious early example of a creator-driven space opera from the Golden Age, showcasing Briefer’s distinctive cartooning style before his more famous work on Frankenstein.
