Ray Banana Avonturen in de XXe Eeuw

In the mid-1980s, Casterman published just two issues of Ray Banana Avonturen in de XXe Eeuw, a stylish, retro-futuristic comic series by writer René van de Weijer and artist Ted Benoît. The series follows the titular character, a trenchcoat-clad private eye, through a lovingly rendered 1930s-inspired world tinged with science fiction and noir atmosphere. Though brief, the run is a cult artifact of European bande dessinée, showcasing Benoît’s crisp ligne claire art and a playful, cinematic sense of adventure.
