Rancho Special

In the late 1950s, French publisher Éditions Pierre Mouchot launched Rancho Special, a 33-issue comic series that ran until 1961, offering a distinctive blend of Western adventure and exotic travel. The series is best remembered for its striking painted covers and the work of artist Jean Giraud (later known as Mœbius), whose early career included contributing to the title. Though not as widely known as other European Westerns, Rancho Special stands as a fascinating snapshot of the era's pulp sensibilities and a formative platform for future legends.
