Rai

In the early 1990s, Valiant reimagined its futuristic hero Rai for a new ongoing series, originally written by David Michelinie and Jim Shooter, with art by Joe St. Pierre and Sal Velluto. Set in a far-future Japan ruled by the sentient AI known as Father, this series follows the cyborg protector Rai as he navigates a rigid, techno-dystopian society. Running for nine issues under both the Valiant and Acclaim banners, it stands as a key chapter in the publisher’s expansion of its shared universe.
