About the series
A long-running Norwegian comic album series from Semic, Rødøye (1990–present) collects the misadventures of the perpetually unlucky Redeye, a Native American character originally created by the American cartoonist Gordon Bess. The series is primarily known for Bess's distinctive artwork and the writing contributions of Ann-Louis Nerem, who helped sustain the comic's humorous, slapstick tone. Though it began as a single issue in 1990, the album series has become a staple for fans of classic newspaper-style gags and Western-themed comedy in Norway.
