About the series

Inspired by Osamu Tezuka's classic Astro Boy arc "The Greatest Robot on Earth," this eight-issue manga series from Shogakukan (2004–2009) is a masterwork of suspense and philosophical science fiction. Written by Naoki Urasawa with co-writer Takashi Nagasaki and illustrated by Urasawa, Pluto reimagines a world where advanced robots live alongside humans, following a Europol detective robot investigating a string of murders targeting the world's most powerful automatons. The series is celebrated for its mature, noir-tinged storytelling and deep exploration of emotion, memory, and the nature of hatred.
