Prins Valiant
VIVO · 1966–1968 · 55 issues
About the series
In the mid-1960s, Brazilian publisher VIVO brought Hal Foster's legendary newspaper strip Prince Valiant to comic book stands with Prins Valiant, a 55-issue series that ran from 1966 to 1968. While Foster himself contributed writing and some art, the series is notable for its striking painted covers by Franco Picchioni (credited as P. Franco) and interior art from uncredited hands, including work later linked to the studio behind Stingray and Zero-X. This Portuguese-language edition made the epic adventures of the Arthurian knight accessible to a new audience, preserving Foster's classic storytelling with a distinct visual flair.
