In 2016 and 2017, Bastei Verlag brought the popular online game Poptropica to the comic page with a three-issue series. The comics follow the island-hopping adventures of the game's characters, translating the interactive world's puzzles and exploration into sequential art. While a short run, the series is notable for adapting a beloved digital property into a traditional print format for a new generation of readers.
