Pondus & Beate

Frode Øverli’s long-running Norwegian newspaper strip Pondus spun off into this single-issue comic album, Pondus & Beate, published by Hjemmet/Egmont in 2009. The story focuses on the relationship between the titular characters, two of the strip’s most beloved regulars, as written and drawn entirely by Øverli. While a brief standalone release, it showcases the creator’s signature warm, gag-driven style that has made Pondus a Scandinavian comics institution.
