Pluto

Inspired by a story arc from Osamu Tezuka's Astro Boy, Naoki Urasawa's Pluto reimagines the classic as a haunting, noir-inflected mystery. Published in German by Carlsen Comics from 2010 to 2011, this eight-issue series follows a Europol detective investigating a string of robot and human murders linked to the world's most advanced machines. With Urasawa handling both writing and art, supported by co-writer Jürgen Seebeck, the series is celebrated for its mature, emotionally complex take on artificial intelligence and the nature of grief.
