Plastic Man

Bell Features’ 1949–1950 Plastic Man series stretched the original Quality Comics run with nine issues, anchored by Jack Cole’s elastic, slapstick art and co-writer Bill Woolfolk. Cole’s rubber-limbed hero twisted through crime and comedy with a visual wit that defined the character’s Golden Age charm. Though brief, this Canadian-published chapter preserved the madcap energy of one of comics’ most inventive creations.
