About the series
In 2003, DC brought together Warren Ellis and John Cassaday for a single, standalone comic that crossed the worlds of Planetary and Batman. This one-shot places the enigmatic archaeologist Jakita Wagner of the Planetary organization in Gotham City, where she encounters a version of the Batman unlike any other. True to the Planetary mandate, she investigates the strange and hidden history of this world, offering a fresh perspective on the Dark Knight through the series' signature lens of pulp adventure and secret histories. It's a compact, beautifully illustrated meeting of two distinct universes that showcases Cassaday's dynamic storytelling and Ellis's knack for recontextualizing iconic characters.
