Pitt

Dale Keown's creator-owned series for Full Bleed Studios, Pitt (1996–1997), follows the hulking, alien-human hybrid of the same name as he protects his young charge, Timmy Bracken, and the boy's grandfather from monstrous threats in a gritty, early-Image-style world. Co-written and co-drawn with Richard Pace and inked by Nik Vaughan, the 12-issue run pits Pitt against the villainous Quagg and the terrifying Wroth, establishing Keown's signature hyper-detailed, muscular art style outside of his Marvel work. A key artifact of the mid-90s creator-owned boom, Pitt showcases a powerhouse artist's personal vision, blending sci-fi action with a surprisingly heartfelt core.
