Pisellino
Nerbini · 1939–1940 · 48 issues
About the series
The brief but lively run of Pisellino (1939–1940) from Italian publisher Nerbini offered 48 issues of lighthearted, character-driven comic strips. A companion to the more famous Il Giornalino, this series was a showcase for the playful, cartoonish style of its era, reflecting the pre-war Italian fumetto tradition. Though its run was cut short by the onset of World War II, Pisellino remains a charming snapshot of a moment when Italian comics were finding their own voice, full of gentle humor and energetic linework.
