Picture Stories from the Bible

In 1979 and 1980, Scarf Press published a three-issue comic series, Picture Stories from the Bible, that brought Old Testament narratives to a new generation. Written primarily by Montgomery Mulford and Edward Wertheim, with art by Don Cameron, the series offered a reverent, illustrated approach to scripture. It stands as a notable example of faith-based comics from the late Bronze Age of American comics, distinct for its focus on biblical adaptation rather than superheroes.
