About the series
From 1964 to 1965, Lehning’s Piccolo-Großband delivered 90 issues of German-language adventure comics, a staple of the publisher’s post-war lineup. The series is most closely associated with artist Hansrudi Wäscher, whose dynamic, clean linework defined its visual identity, alongside contributions from Francesco Gamba. These oversized albums collected a mix of Western, jungle, and exotic adventure tales, capturing the era’s appetite for fast-paced, pulp-inspired storytelling.
