Piano Oriental

In Piano Oriental (2016–present), Lebanese-French cartoonist Zeina Abirached weaves a gentle, semi-autobiographical tale set in her childhood Beirut, centered on her grandmother’s beloved piano. Published by avant-verlag, this single-issue comic quietly explores memory, family, and the small, resonant objects that anchor us to a place and time. Abirached’s delicate, monochrome linework and patient storytelling make it a poignant snapshot of a personal history.
