Photomatons

A singular, oversized artifact from Frémok, Photomatons (2008–present) is a single-issue photo-comic that captures the uncanny stillness of automated photo-booth portraits. The project is most closely associated with the collective's experimental ethos, using found imagery to explore identity, chance, and the mechanical gaze. Its lasting significance lies in its radical simplicity, turning a mundane machine's output into a dense, wordless meditation on how we present ourselves to the camera.
