Persepolis

Originally published in French as a four-volume graphic memoir, Persepolis was collected into a single English-language edition in 2005 by No Comprendo Press. Written and drawn by Marjane Satrapi, with additional writing by Asbjørn Øverås, the book is a stark, black-and-white account of growing up during the Iranian Revolution. Its deeply personal, human-scale storytelling made it a landmark work in bringing international graphic narratives to a wide, English-speaking readership.
