Penultiman

A quirky, sci-fi-infused superhero satire from AHOY Comics, Penultiman (2021–present) reimagines the classic "next step in human evolution" trope with a deadpan twist. Created by writer Tom Peyer and artist Alan Robinson, the series follows a being who is not the ultimate human, but the second-to-last, leaving him perpetually overshadowed by his own successor. Its single issue so far introduces a clever, self-aware premise that pokes fun at superhero conventions while exploring what it means to be almost great.
