Peer Viking

Set in a gritty, near-future Germany, Peer Viking ran for four issues from 1987 to 1991 from Carlsen Comics, blending science fiction with noir sensibilities. The series is most strongly associated with Dutch master Dick Matena, who handled the art and co-wrote the story alongside Peter Müller and Harald Sachse. A distinctive, mature European comic of its era, it remains a cult artifact for its atmospheric, illustrated vision of a cyberpunk-tinged Europe.
