About the series
In the late 1970s, the small German publisher Lieser launched Paul, der Marsianer, a short-lived but charming 14-issue series that follows a friendly Martian who finds himself stranded on Earth. Blending light science fiction with slice-of-life humor, the strip was created and drawn by the prolific German artist Rolf Kauka, best known for his work on Fix und Foxi. Though it never reached the heights of Kauka's earlier successes, the series stands as a curious and affectionate footnote in German comics history, offering a gentle, whimsical take on the stranger-in-a-strange-land trope.
