About the series
From 1984 onward, the German publisher Volksverlag released Panzerungen, a single-issue comic that pairs the architectural visions of artist François Schuiten with the narrative input of writers Daniele Böhm, Luc Schuiten, and Rüdiger Böhm. This standalone work is a striking, early example of the meticulous, dreamlike ligne claire style that Schuiten would later become famous for, exploring the relationship between machinery and human form.
