About the series
A lighthearted, gag-a-day Dutch comic series that ran for two decades, Paling en Ko followed the misadventures of two hapless friends through 47 issues of slapstick and wordplay. Published by De Vrijbuiter and later De Schorpioen, the series is most closely associated with the prolific Spanish cartoonist Francisco Ibañez, whose energetic, chaotic style defined its visual identity. While a minor entry in Ibañez's vast body of work, the series stands as a notable example of his international influence during the 1970s and 1980s.
