About the series
In the mid-1970s, Marvel Comics introduced this short-lived, ten-issue series following a silent, enigmatic android known as Omega, who arrives on Earth with little memory of his past. Co-created by writer Steve Gerber, the book paired its cosmic, super-powered title character with the grounded story of a young boy named James-Michael Starling, exploring alienation and fractured identity. With art by Jim Mooney and others, the series stood out for its somber, offbeat tone and refusal to fit neatly into the superhero mold of the era. Despite its brief run, Omega the Unknown has endured as a cult curio, remembered for its moody, unconventional approach to the Marvel Universe.
