About the series
John Mueller’s three-issue Oink: Heaven’s Butcher (1995–1996, Kitchen Sink Press) is a darkly comedic, self-contained miniseries that follows a disgruntled pig on a violent, irreverent rampage through the afterlife. Written and drawn entirely by Mueller, the book blends grotesque cartooning with sharp satire, offering a twisted take on heaven, hell, and divine bureaucracy. Though brief, its unapologetically weird premise and distinctive, underground-comix style made it a cult oddity of Kitchen Sink’s 1990s lineup.
