About the series
From 1998 onward, Kitchen Sink Press published this four-issue series, a visceral blend of horror and dark satire set in a traveling circus where the performers are anthropomorphic pigs. Written primarily by David Davis and John Mueller, with Mueller handling the grotesque, expressive artwork, Oink: Blood and Circus stands as a cult oddity of the late-1990s independent comics scene. Its unflinching, often grotesque vision of exploitation and survival under the big top gives the series a raw, memorable edge that lingers with readers.
