About the series
A gleefully anarchic British humour comic from IPC, Oink! (1986–1988) ran for 70 issues, offering a deliberately crude and surreal alternative to the tamer kids' comics of the era. Most closely associated with co-creator and regular writer-artist Tony Husband, alongside artist Lew Stringer, its pages were filled with grotesque, pig-themed gags and subversive strips that delighted in pushing boundaries. It stands as a cult landmark of 1980s British comics, remembered for its irreverent spirit and willingness to mock everything from authority to its own medium.
