About the series
In the late 1990s, Editora Abril brought Brazilian readers a compact, four-issue series titled O Reino do Amanhã, a Portuguese translation of the acclaimed DC Comics miniseries Kingdom Come. This story presents a near-future where a new generation of violent vigilantes has forced the old guard of superheroes out of retirement, leading to a climactic moral conflict. Written by Mark Waid with stunning painted artwork by Alex Ross, the series is celebrated for its mature, philosophical take on heroism and its breathtaking visual style. It remains a landmark work for its thoughtful exploration of legacy and responsibility in the superhero genre.
