O Corvo

A darkly poetic Portuguese comic series from Ala dos Livros, O Corvo (2020–present) is a two-issue project by writer and artist Luís Louro, drawing on the brooding atmosphere of Edgar Allan Poe’s iconic poem. Louro’s stark, expressionistic visuals and sparse, haunting narrative reframe the raven as a symbol of grief and obsession in a contemporary setting. Though brief in its run, the series stands as a distinctive, personal take on a classic work, showcasing Louro’s singular voice in European alternative comics.
