O Bom e Velho Cuttlas

In 2012, Zarabatana Books launched O Bom e Velho Cuttlas, a single-issue comic that distills the essence of the classic Western into a spare, modern fable. Created by the celebrated Brazilian cartoonist Angeli, the series follows the aging gunslinger Cuttlas with a blend of melancholy and deadpan humor. Though brief, this one-shot stands as a poignant, character-driven capstone to a long-running newspaper strip, showcasing Angeli’s masterful linework and his talent for finding humanity in the dusty, loner archetype of the cowboy.
