In the mid-1950s, Semrau Publications launched the jungle-adventure series Nyoka, a 12-issue run that continued the exploits of the white jungle queen from the earlier Fawcett Comics. The title is most associated with the art of Dick Giordano and Maurice Whitman, who brought vivid, dynamic life to Nyoka's battles against wild animals and treacherous foes in the untamed wilderness.
