In the early 1990s, Spanish publisher Planeta DeAgostini launched Novelas Gráficas Marvel, a 21-issue series that collected and translated classic Marvel stories into a graphic-novel format for European readers. Most frequently translated by Celia Filipetto and Susan K. Putney, the series is particularly notable for featuring the work of legendary artist Bernie Wrightson, whose distinctive style brought a unique visual edge to several of its volumes.
