About the series
In the early 1990s, French publisher Semic brought Nintendo's biggest video game stars to the printed page with this 48-issue comic series. Spanning 1990 to 1994, it offered young readers monthly adventures starring Mario, Link, and other iconic characters, adapting and expanding their digital worlds into full-color comics. The series is a nostalgic time capsule of the 8- and 16-bit eras, showcasing how European publishers translated Japanese game franchises for a Western audience before Nintendo of America's own comics took hold.
