About the series
Stephan Pastis’s Nighthogs (2005–present, Andrews McMeel) is a single-issue comic strip collection that follows the nocturnal, canine-centric misadventures of a group of dogs who come alive after their owners go to sleep. Pastis, the strip’s sole writer and artist, brings his signature dry wit and absurdist humor to this offbeat world, offering a playful companion piece to his more famous Pearls Before Swine. Though brief in its print run, the series captures a unique, late-night slice of doggy life that stands out in the landscape of early 2000s newspaper comics.
