Night Music

P. Craig Russell’s Night Music (1984–1990, Eclipse) is an 11-issue anthology series that adapts literary and operatic works into lush, intricate comics, with Russell as both primary writer and artist. Blending fantasy, myth, and classical storytelling, the series features Russell alongside writers Barry Daniels and Patrick Mason, and includes a recurring appearance by Mowgli from Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book. A landmark of the 1980s independent comics scene, it showcases Russell’s virtuosic art and his passion for transforming high-art narratives into sequential art.
