In the late 1980s, the Dutch publisher De Harmonie and the collective Het Raadsel released Niet zo, maar zo!, a five-issue comic series that showcased the crisp, clean ligne claire style of its most frequent artist, Joost Swarte. This short-lived but distinctive title offered a playful, visual puzzle-box of storytelling, reflecting the Dutch alternative comics scene's wit and graphic precision.
