About the series
Nick de ruimtevaarder, a Dutch-language space adventure comic published by Metropolis, ran for 66 issues from 1961 to 1962. Entirely written and drawn by the prolific Hansrudi Wäscher, the series follows the interplanetary exploits of its titular astronaut hero in the classic, optimistic sci-fi style of the early 1960s. Wäscher’s energetic, clean artwork and fast-paced storytelling made it a standout in the European adventure-comic tradition, capturing the era’s fascination with space exploration.
