Nellie the Nurse

A lighthearted, single-joke humor series from Bell Features, Nellie the Nurse ran for just three issues beginning in 1951. The title character, a cheerful hospital worker, starred in gags and short strips drawn most consistently by cartoonist Howie Post. Though brief, the series represents a modest example of the many occupation-based joke comics that filled newsstands in the early 1950s.
