In the mid-2000s, Danish publisher SyndiKate released Nørrebronx, a two-issue comic series that transplanted classic superhero tropes into the gritty, multicultural Copenhagen district of Nørrebro. The series is best known for its striking, graffiti-infused art style and its attempt to explore urban identity and social tension through a genre lens.
