About the series
From 2000 to 2003, CrossGen's Mystic followed the reluctant young woman Giselle on a journey across a magical world, where she discovers she is the bearer of a powerful, sentient tattoo that grants her control over reality. Written primarily by Tony Bedard and Ron Marz, with lush, detailed art from Brandon Peterson, Aaron Lopresti, and Fabrizio Fiorentino, the series stood out for its inventive, high-concept fantasy and its place in CrossGen's interconnected Sigilverse. Its 43-issue run remains a fondly remembered example of early-2000s creator-owned-style storytelling within a shared universe.
