Muumipeikko

In the early 1980s, Finnish publisher Vaasa Oy brought Tove Jansson’s beloved Moomin characters to a dedicated comic series of their own, Muumipeikko, which ran for 46 issues. While Jansson’s original newspaper strips are legendary, this series expanded the gentle, whimsical world of the Moomins for a new generation of readers in Finland. The stories, often drawn by other artists under license, maintained the series’ signature blend of cozy adventure and subtle philosophical charm. Muumipeikko remains a cherished piece of Finnish comics history, preserving the spirit of Moominvalley for a devoted audience.
