About the series
From 1992 to 1993, DC Comics published two special issues of Ms. Tree Special, a hardboiled crime-comic spin-off starring the formidable private eye Ms. Tree. Written by Max Allan Collins and illustrated by Terry Beatty, these issues continued the gritty, noir-infused adventures that had previously defined the character at other publishers. Though brief, the series offered a sharp, standalone dose of Collins and Beatty’s signature tough-talking, morally complex storytelling.
