About the series
In the late 1940s, Simcoe Publishing & Distribution brought the popular radio crime drama Mr. District Attorney to comic stands with a five-issue series. Illustrated primarily by Howard Purcell and Win Mortimer, the comic followed the crusading district attorney as he tackled corruption and criminals in the courtroom and on the streets. This short-lived but punchy series captured the post-war appetite for law-and-order storytelling, offering a direct, no-frills take on the procedural genre before the character faded from the page.
