Morgan Kane

In 1979 and 1980, Danish publisher Interpresse brought the gritty, hard-boiled Western antihero Morgan Kane to comics for a brief two-issue run. Scripted by series creator Louis Masterson alongside John Jørgensen, with moody, atmospheric art by Ernst Vevle Olsen, this adaptation distilled the violent, morally complex world of Kane’s pulp novels into a stark visual format. Though short-lived, it remains a notable artifact of European Western comics, capturing the bleak frontier justice that made Masterson’s character a cult favorite in Scandinavia.
