A monthly anthology from Mag Garden, Monthly Comic Avarus ran for 49 issues from 2010 to 2014, serving as a successor to the publisher's earlier Comic Blade line. The magazine was notable for its blend of shōnen, shōjo, and seinen series, with a particular emphasis on dark fantasy and supernatural titles. While it hosted a variety of manga, it is perhaps best remembered as the original home of Kaori Yuki's The Cain Saga and Godchild continuations, as well as works like Pandora Hearts and Kuroshitsuji (Black Butler) during their early runs. Its concise run made it a distinctive, curated space for atmospheric, gothic-influenced storytelling.
