Monomyth

In Monomyth, Mad Cave Studios launched a 2024 series that reimagines the hero's journey as a modern horror-fantasy. The debut issue, the only one released so far, is written by Ryan Cady and illustrated by Andrea Mutti, with colors by K.J. Diaz. The story follows a young woman who discovers her small town is the epicenter of a cyclical, ancient conflict between mythic forces, forcing her to confront a destiny she never wanted. It’s an atmospheric, slow-burn start that promises a dark, character-driven take on the archetypal narrative.
