Modern papier

Joost Swarte's Modern Papier (1971–1972) was a seminal Dutch underground comics magazine that ran for ten issues, showcasing Swarte's own clean-lined, architectural style alongside work by other European and American avant-garde cartoonists. Published during the peak of the counterculture comix movement, it helped define the "clear line" aesthetic in Europe and established Swarte as a key figure in bridging the gap between underground sensibilities and sophisticated graphic design.
