Minha Coisa Favorita é Monstro

Emil Ferris’s Minha Coisa Favorita é Monstro is a singular, deeply personal graphic novel from Brazilian publisher Companhia das Letras, launched in 2019. Through the eyes of a young girl in 1960s Chicago, Ferris uses a dense, ballpoint-pen style to weave a noir-tinged mystery that explores family, violence, and the monsters we carry. Though only one issue has been published so far, its raw, hand-lettered storytelling and intricate art have marked it as a landmark work of autobiographical horror and social observation.
