Milieudefensie

A unique blend of environmental advocacy and sequential art, Milieudefensie is a Dutch comic series published by the environmental organization of the same name. Launched in 1971 and running for nine issues, the series uses the comic medium to communicate ecological themes and activism. Though its creators are not widely known outside the Netherlands, the series stands as an early, sustained example of using comics for direct social and environmental messaging.
